The pork pie hat made from a luxurious wool felt, satin lined in Christys' iconic red. The pork pie has a leather headband to the inside and a broad black satin band and bow to the out. The upcurled brim and the distinctive crown give the hat a confident air and is recognisable from a distance. The hat is low in height and pinched along the edge like the crust of the famous pastry. This strong silhouette has led to the hats consistent adoption by the big and small screen. More recently is has been known as the Heisenberg hat, made famous by Walter White who wore the pork pie in Breaking Bad and in doing so introduced the hat to a new audience of hat fans.
Christys' was established in 1773 after Miller Christy completed a seven year apprenticeship in The Art and Mystery of Feltmaking, and became a milliner producing the finest quality hats in London. Two hundred years later, the hats of Christys' of London receive international acclaim.
